Top 50 Records Of 2017 Pt. 8 (36 & 35)

Album No. 36 (Miraculous Mule - Two Tonne Testimony)

90's Rockers Dream City Film Club were one hell of a band and mainman Michael Sheehy spent most of the 00's releasing solo stuff, but this decade he's mostly concentrated on the driving blues rock of Miraculous Mule, 2013's 'Deep Fried' which featured one of the creepiest albums covers I've ever seen, was a game changer showing how hard a blues rock band can be, Ten Tonne Testimony pushes that even further. Lovely blues drenched rock n roll, highly recommended.

Single / EP No. 36 (Bleached - Can You Deal? 12")

Lovely pop infused rock, not quite powerpop and not full on rock, somewhere nice in between, Bleached have been showing themselves to be quite the formidable trio for the last 7 years or so, this latest EP shows they should be getting bigger audiences and even better is still to come.

Album No. 35 (Creeper - Eternity In Your Arms)

Got to admit, i wasn't expecting this one to be as good as it is, it's theatrical rock that probably appeals to fans of bands like Black Veil Brides but unlike that band this is actually really good, with great hooks and real songs, if you fancy a surprise hit it ticks all the boxes, and there's a lovely purple version out there to boot.

Single / EP No. 35 (King Nun - Hung Around 7")

Relatively new and unheard of with just one previous 7" under their belts, King Nun have a future brighter than a car coming at you with full beam on, both singles so far show a youthful exuberance with a knack for punk rocky melody, here's hoping we hear a lot more and soon.
